SPAN-GA ON THE MOVE

SPAN-GA is a Georgia non-profit 501c3 organization working in communities all throughout the state.  Our focus is on supporting survivors of a loss by suicide, but our work includes suicide prevention, intervention and aftercare.

SPAN-GA has partnered to support our communities in crisis. There are many ways that a crisis like this impacts our lives.  Our health can be impacted or our financial situation can be impacted as well, but it can challenge our frame of mind and our general mental health.  Reach out for support where you can and offer help where possible!

The Love Stream is a collaboration of unique talents, popular establishments, hopeful minds, and big hearts. As everyone is aware, this Global Pandemic has had devastating effects on many families, individuals, and local businesses. We have had heart-wrenching conversations with parents who have lost their jobs, people who cannot make ends meet, and companies that have had to close their doors (possibly forever). Because we are tired of saying "I wish there was something I could do to help," we have decided to do what Mother Teresa once directed us to do: give until it hurts.

The goal of The Love Stream is to help as many people as possible through this challenging time. Five extremely talented musicians (Charlie Starr, Coy Bowles, Blair Crimmins, Joe McGuinness & Levi Lowery) have agreed to donate their gifts to create a high-spirited virtual gathering space where we can cultivate love for our fellow man. We would like to thank the organizations we have partnered with: ASID, SPAN Ga & Modern Luxury Interiors, for their help in maximizing our reach into the community. On this page there are three designated locations (CashApp, PayPal & Venmo) where you can give, if you are able, to our cause. The money you donate will be used to fund the continued outreach of local restaurants to their communities and it will be used to purchase gift cards from local restaurants to support their business. Those gift cards will then be given to individuals (identified by professionals in the social services field) who are struggling to feed their families.

The restaurants that have been identified to benefit from this cause (initially) include: Prime 120, Athens Pizza, Buteco, Foundation Social Eatery, Fortify Pi & Petit Chou. We understand that this is a tiny portion of the establishments that are in need of support. If we are able to raise enough money, we will expand our reach to more local businesses.

You can donate to this cause at:   Venmo:  #LoveStream. Cash App:  $LoveStream   PayPal:  georgiasurvivors@gmail.com

WHATS HAPPENING

There are other organizations that make memory quilts for those that have lost a loved one to suicide, but SPAN-GA is the only organization that creates the traveling quilts that are seen at events and activities all throughout the state.   We also build quilts for communities and organizations that are commited to suicide prevention, intervention and aftercare.

Get connected and stay connected!  There are many resources to help and support your needs in suicide prevention, intervetnion and aftercare, nationally, statewide and locally.  Learn about trainings, events, activities, volunteer opportunities and more.  So get connected to the network, and stay in the know!

This is not a Crisis Line or Crisis Site.  If you have an emergency call 911 or the Georgia Crisis and Access Line at 1-800-715-4225
